Introduction:
Serpmon is a true cutey. Made just to give the "aww" factor, he is usually a relatively quick favorite.
This In-Training is a Virus type but a tainted one. He has as much personality and heart as he is ever seen in any picture, making him have a true heart of gold. Another reason why people like him, and why VLK made him.
Story History:
Serpmon comes to his Tamer, an 11 year old girl named Megan O. (she isn't much of a character yet. VLK doesn't count most people as characters). It was a real fluke to begin with. Megan was walking to school, quite withdrawn from the world, having just found her D3, a very misplaced crest, and saw a recent violent battle between some Digimon. Her thoughts were quickly interrupted when a screaming Serpmon falls from a rift in the sky and smacks Megan in the head.
Oddly enough, Serpmon falls for Megan, Megan for Serpmon and they become fast friends and then quickly partners. The clash of personalities making for the ideal balance.
Serpmon came to the "Real World" to obtain an immense power source though not exactly certain what it even is. But the Virus type Serpmon is against his type, believing that the power source should remain protected, not exploited. This leads off into the main theme of the whole story.
General History:
Serpmon may be the In-Training leading to the rest of his forms but he was the last to be created, most likely somewhere inbetween February or March 2001.
The main reason was to give an almost a full line of Digivolutions for each of the Digimon, making a complete strain (minus the Baby Digimon form).

-This is the only song I can associate with all of the Serpmon Digivolutions. I like the pitches and beat in this because it gives the sense of accomplishment, but also the sense of failure which is part of the drive of their Digivolutions, particularly Dragonmon and Ceberusmon.
